So I’ve had several beardies in the past- babies all the way up to adult. I love them at all stages and they all have special personalities. I have one right now, named Patrick, who seems a little more sassy than my others. It seems as though when I don’t give Patrick what he wants he gets.. annoyed? mad? at me. For example- I’ve been switching up his eating habits a little lately and on specific days he used to get worms. Now those worms are replaced with dubia (we do feed a 70/30 diet so bugs aren’t everyday) and when I start setting up to feed he gets really excited, but when I take him out to give him his food that has been replaced with something healthier, he refuses it and for a few hours, sometimes longer, will give me the evil eye from his cage or isn’t interested in hanging around for cuddles when he’s usually the most cuddly nugget. Same situation with coming out of the viv- if I’m in a meeting on zoom and I just can’t let him out to roam or hang out with me, he sulks, gives the evil eye, and when I do let him out he’ll avoid me for a bit. I know they’re sassy to begin with and the saying goes that you don’t train them, they train you, but I just want to know if I’m crazy or if anyone else’s scale children do this also. It’s not that I haven’t experienced this with my others, he just seems to be more stubborn and hard headed about what he wants and showing me how he feels when he doesn’t get it than my others are.
