Welcome can you post some pics of your baby --- and the mouth open is he is gaping or thermoglating or also known as adjusting his body temp-- where did you get your baby from?
You need a digital probe thermometer to get basking temps and the Solar Glo should be approx 12 inches from basking decor --- temps for a baby should be 105-110 -- NO stick ons they are inaccurate - you may need to get another UVB to compliment the Solar Glo but I am going to let someone else weigh in on that one

It means he's self-regulating his temperature. It's normal, and fine that he does that--they ALL do. :wink:
