The other side of the tank is just tile, salad plate, and water. 40gals are too small. I see that already. I had to give him basking options across the width of the tank vs length. I didn't need to add additional heat. He only poops while grazing the salad on the other side so no reason to mess with that side. Temp probe is coming out. No reason for it but I wanted one just to get a feel for ambient temps near the lights. He doesn't do well with backgrounds on the glass so he get's to see his real world. Duplicate pictures are one flash off, one flash on.
