This is a picture of it last night from after she shed and another one from this morning. This morning it’s all dried up. I went to the vet during their walk in hours and they refused to see us because no one was able to see reptiles. (Our vet is still out of town.) This time they did offer an appointment until then. This is the only reputable exciting vet anywhere even close to me. I am willing to travel but even then there is nothing realistic. She’s acting normal and ate a ton. I think she’s feeling much better having finally shed, this was a rough one for her. Until thursday I will do iodine rinses and raw honey. Let me know any other tips you have! Sounds good, only other thing I can think of is remember to not pull any shed off. Hopefully this will heal up soon, good to hear that her appetite is back.

That is good news she seems to be feeling better. I agree, just continue to use the diluted betadine rinses when needed & applying the raw honey to help ward off any infection.

Hi! Thanks so much for checking in. Our visit with the vet filling in for our usual doc was not particularly helpful. We did start antibiotics and got a fecal test done. It came back with coccidia so we’re treating that now as well. The vet told me to start soaking her again to help with the shed that she’s avoiding getting off herself because of the abscess so it doesn’t get stuck. I think her eye is looking much better after I started using a q tip and aloe baths to help her get the shed off there. Her abscess looks better everyday, but is definitely not gone. It looks half empty with open skin, and half full of the more typical reptile pus rather than the green liquid we were seeing before. We added repashy to her diet after vet recommended vitamins could help with eye as well. Not as a replacement food, just as a topper. Her attitude is normal besides being so annoyed with all my messing around with her and making her tank bare bones to get rid of the parasite. We have a visit scheduled for the day our usual vet is back from his vacation to get his thoughts on it. He is amazing and we really trust him so I’ll be sure to update after that next week. I love her so much, I’m just hoping I’m doing everything right for her until then.

O.K, sounds good and her eye looks much better ! I think the best things you could use on her side are either raw honey or silver cream. They promote healing so keep that in your arsenal as well. How long will she be on coccidia meds. and which meds are they ?

The eye does look a lot better! I'm glad to see that.
It looks like she is healing up pretty well. As AHBD suggested,
keep using the raw honey or silver cream to help with healing.

Hi! Thanks so much everyone for checking in, I really appreciate it. I’m back with updates. Mango is doing so much better. She’s eating, running, basking, pooping, etc. The medicine she was on was daily
Enrofloxacin 0.3cc for the bumps/infection
Albon 5% 0.1cc for the coccidia

Last week we finally saw our great exotic vet and he said we’ve doing everything we could up until then. He agrees she burned herself and said she might’ve even fallen asleep under her basking light when it was too close before we move for farther away. Her torso looks mostly healed, but his only concern was that she’s still not trying to shed on that side of her body and that as she sheds again it’s possible that she gets another infection there. He gave us a weekly dose of Ponazuril 100mg to help prevent that. He said to moisturize her to help her get the shed off. For about 3 or 4 weeks i’ve been using fresh aloe in her soaks and a soft toothbrush but this isn’t helping yet. Any reccomendations on something else to try? Shed ease?

quite a bit, did they dose for her weight? I hope it was a
100mg/ml solution.
The shed hasn't come off yet? You can just keep trying
the soaks along with the aloe in her bath. You can also
try using some coconut oil, too.
That's great she is healing up now. Burns do take some
time to fully heal. Are you using aloe vera gel or silver gel
on the area to help expedite healing?

A lot of shed has come off but not all of it, especially by her spikes on the side. I’ve been putting aloe on her to help but I read if I leave it on it could burn her under her light so i’ve been nervous to leave it on. Maybe I should try silver. Now she’s getting to shed again it looks weird.

Doc said her coccidia numbers are a lot better but could still be a little lower, so gonna go back and test again in two months. She’s not a huge salad eater, but she does eat a couple good bites a day. I use bee pollen and recently added repashy as a supplement. I just offered her hornworms for the first time last week and she loved them of course. She’s also loved crickets most, and mealworms as a close second favorite. I’ve been trying to give her black soldier fly larvae but she isn’t interested. I don’t know if it’s the taste or they don’t move around enough, but I really wish she would eat them. I can’t get roaches because I’m in florida. Is there a different kind of bug I should try? I hate giving her the mealworms because I see them in her poop undigested. Should I just offer her more crickets?

I tried coconut oil today to help her shed and i’ll do it again tomorrow. She hates it and I feel bad but I try to make it as relaxing as possible.
