Hello,

I agree, I don't think it's yellow fungus. I think it is most likely blisters from being too close to the higher wattage bulb.
As AHBD suggested, try the aloe vera gel for help with the blisters. He probably does have some pain which may be why he hasn't wanted to be held or is a bit lethargic.

Not much change, although her energy is definitely improving. Everything else is the same, though. we’ve been waiting at the vet every day hoping to be squeezed in. Thank you for asking! I have a telehealth tomorrow so hopefully that will help get some answers.

The telehealth visit was a little helpful, they said she most likely needs antibiotics and to continue seeking the vet appointment in person for that. Today she started working really hard to get her shed off. I waited at school all evening so I could be there when the shed on top of the bumps was removed so I could get pictures and immediately rinse with iodine. I guess it’s what I could expect it to look like. We’ll be at the vet in the morning waiting to be seen as a walk in again. Fingers crossed!

that’s it immediately after it shed. I hadn’t put anything on it.

OK, that's like a pus or fluid seeping out. If this was from being too close to the basking bulb it is probably a burn then, whatever it is you can use silver cream [ from drug store ] on it or some raw honey. Either of those will help any type of wound.

Thanks! I will get one of those asap. Hopefully the iodine also helped. I have just been so confused because i’ve always heard of bearded dragons have a more solid, crumbly pus. seeing this feels like the opposite of anything I can find! hoping vet will know

Different types of wounds have different types of discharge. It's the body's way of flushing infection from a wound.

When you see the vet, be sue to mention that the dragon was basking just inches from the heat lamp. It's like us going to the Dr. with a wound of some type and they ask what happened or what we were doing when it appeared. If they don''t have all the possibilities as to what caused it they may not prescribe proper treatment.
