Yarrow!!! HELP!! Safe to eat?

Odahviing tucked in and had several mouth fulls before I stopped her. That is to say, a couple leaves. Yarrow is safe for humans, even used in brewing. But not on the beautiful dragons page.


Why does my lizard keep eating weird stuff?!?

Well, Achillea millefolium - Yarrow, is listed as a safe plant for turtles to eat, so I think it would be ok for beardies, too.

Yours is not the only dragon who likes to eat strange things, Emmy hates veggies, but goes wild for any kind of weed/green in my yard. Half the weeds I cannot even identify, but they are fast when they want something. The last ting she ate was Mallow, so I know that is safe.

That's an awfully good idea, cross referencing with turtles and other herps. I don't want to coop her up and treat her like glass, but there are all sorts of things that don't occur in Australia that I worry over being toxic.

I know catnip is safe.... Because she's eaten that. Likes it a rather lot too..

Glad to know catnip is good, it's growing like wildfire in my backyard and I never planted it! I'm sure your dragon will be fine.

Catnip worried me, because of its chemical component. It's a member of the mint family, so I've treated it like that. She loves it.

General consensus on here when I panicked was that it was like the other herbs. OK in small amounts.

Odahviing seems fine. Phew.
