I have not been on here forever and now my baby girl has a small bulge of red stuff coming out of her vent.
Please help me. She eats good. She's about 2yrs and I think she may be eating to many roaches verses greens.
Could this cause her to strain when going poop?

Hello and nice to see you back!

Sorry to hear about your little girl. It sounds like a prolapse, which would definitely come from straining while pooping. If it is still sticking out you want to keep it moist so that it does not dry out. You can moisten it with KY jelly or vaseline.
The other thing you can do is soak her in a "cool" sugar/water solution. Dissolve the sugar in a little warm water and then add the cool water. This will help to reduce swelling.
I know they can get a prolapse from too much calcium, which would make their urates hard/chalky and make them strain. Not enough vegetables can also make it harder for them to poop. Try orally hydrating her with a syringe, in case she is dehydrated.
If the prolapse does not go back in on it's own, don't force or push it back in. You will need to get her to a vet asap.
I hope this helps. Let us know how she is doing.

Thanks for the info. I did soak her twice so far. The first time in went right back in. Today it's out again. How many times a day should I soak her? I stay home so I can do as many as needed. How many days should I wait until going to the vet? What can the vet do to help?

Sorry that your little girl prolapsed again. The sugar soaks you would want to give her quite often, especially now that she has prolapsed again. You just don't want it to swell, which would of course make it harder to go back in. Are you applying KY or vaseline to keep the area moist? If it dries up it could go necrotic and we don't want that.
Personally, I would not wait to take her to the vet. A prolapse can be very serious if it does not retract or if left untreated. If she has had another prolapse, she may just keep having them, due to weakened muscles.
The vet will be able to identify the organ and put it back in. I would not recommend pushing it back in yourself, due to the possiblity of damaging other organs in the process.
Take her to the vet and let them examine and determine what needs to be done. Another thing you can do for her to keep her comfortable and also for transporting her to the vet, is to lay her on a wet towel.
Let me know how she is doing and what you decide.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
