Okay so i know that my beardie is in brumation at the moment and is producing more saliva than usual, But he is having trouble sleeping at night time. Everytime i go downstairs he has his eyes open looking at me, it kinda depressing. A few months ago he had some sort of infection that caused mucus to build on his mouth and lips. I took him to a herp 3 times over a month and he had no clue to what it was. He is very healthy and eats but i just need to give his mouth a wipe some days. Any idea to why he is not sleeping?

Thankyou

Can you please provide a picture and details of your dragons enclosure?

Ill do that first thing tommorow, H e is having another restless night so i put him on my chest to get him to sleep. BTW just ruling out that i dont think its impaction he pooped Yesterday, and he was on 2 weeks worth of antibiotics, which did stop the severity of these mucus outbreaks.

What diagnostics did your vet do for the mucous issue? A culture would be a good idea if you can have one done - it would rule out or identify an infection. It sounds like he could still have an unresolved infection going on, especially if the antibiotics helped. If your vet isn't doing much to help I'd find another for a second opinion 4 months is a long time for that sort of issue and infection could certainly dampen his spirits and make him lethargic.

Are their lights on at night? Some dragons are more sensitive to light than others.

How much is he eating and how much is he actually sleeping? the lethargy could well de down to his health rather than is health impeding brumation, which in most cases he would be out of by now.

The vet said his mouth looked fine and that he couldn't see anything but a lot more saliva and mucus then usual. I'm peeved cause this guy has been on TV for being a good vet and i went in 4 times before he let me get him antibiotics! As for the second opinion i went to another vet and he said the same thing but to go to a herp dentist or something like that? And yeah he is down in the dumps which is depressing for me to watch. He is eating okay now after 3 weeks of being off an on though.
I meet need to take him to a herp in Brisbane and get him fully checked out.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
