Am kinda stuck for space in my room but my baby dragons definatly need a new vivarium so am going to try to build one into an alcove in my room. the space is 1foot 9inches in length and 2foot 6inches in width. heigth is no objective, it can be up to 9f10feet high with different levels if needed. can someone tell me if this is possible and if my dragons would stay heathy in it?? also how high and how many levels would it need to be to compensate for the lack of length and width??
thanks in advance

Shmivy :)

Adult beardies don't really climb that much, just to bask. Babies climb a lot more. Adults prefer more floor space so building upwards is not a great idea. Also falling beardies can seriously damage themselves. :(

Hmm without seeing a plan of your room :) I am not sure what to suggest. I am not sure what effect the window in the summer would have on temps. Do you have very hot summers? I live in the UK so summers are not always that warm :)

im in ireland so we don't have the hottest summers either but sometimes my room gets pretty hot so i presume the sun could make the vivarium over heat slightly

That's true. I wonder if using a thermostat would help though? That way your temps would stay constant no matter the warmth of your room. That's just a thought as I havent had any experience with that.

Checking the net is a good idea. Things are generally a lot cheaper online than in shops.

found a cabinet in the house thats 2foot by 4foot by 3 feet. am thinking i might take the doors off it and replace them with glass ones, cut out 2 vents and a couple of holes for lighting fixtures, could move around my bed then to see could i fit it in the room

100% block out curtains will do the trick on this. during summer, even though it doesn't get super hot, keep you curtains closed.
I live in australia where our summer is horrendous 45 degrees C in the shade and 47 out in the sun. If you have the time to do this, don't turn on ur UVB/UVA light just take you lizard out side and let him bask. 20mins of natural UV is equivilant to 12hrs under the enclosure light.

obviously in the colder months you can't do this but i would recommend it. the only place i can have a viv in my room is right next to the window but my curtains stay shut during summer. i have cr*p everywhere (referring to furniture) and my room isn't overly big

I see that on your layout, you have your dresser right next to your tank...have you tried to swap the tank with the dresser so that you don't have the risk of the window?...might be worth givin it a try...just thought it might be a lil help for you... :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
