For a 4x2x2 do you need two thermometers? (for warm and cold side)
Also what thermometers do you recommend?

Short answer is: no.

Long answer:
You need ether a digital probe thermometer or a temp gun to dial in the basking spot.
And you need a thermometer that reads temperature and humidity on the coldest spot.
If your basking spot is warm enough while your cool side is cold/warm enough everything else may be where it is.
You can use the probe thermometer to dial in the basking spot and then switch it over to the cool side.
Personally I have a thermometer on the cool side and check the basking spot from time to time with my temp gun.

I pretty much do the same, but the thermometers are cheap so if you prefer 2 thats fine to. But for sure keep an eye on the cool side. I thought I had my setup good for my new girl but when I started moving my probe around her cool side was 89-91 thats to hot so I had to make adjustments.

I prefer to have at least 2 thermometers watching the basking temp and the cool side temp then I can either add a third warm side non-basking thermometer or spot check with a temp gun. It's good to be able to see the general gradient at a glance with 2 probe thermometers running all the time though. Especially during season changes when the temps can really fluctuate a lot. You don't need to spend much. Usually can find a digital thermometer with a probe for about $10 or so.

Season change is how mine got off so much. The temp here is all over the place right now and this house is more than 100 years old. It's impossible to keep a consistent temp in the house, and that makes it hard to keep consistent temps in my habitats.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
