Successful pairing or no?

Hey guys. So we paired our first male and female 12 days ago. Momma looks a bit more plump but cannot feel absolutely anything in her belly. We were told it would only be 3-4 weeks until she laid since it’s her first time being paired and hasn’t laid yet at 1.5yrs old. She was almost 400g before pairing. Male is smaller. I saw them lock twice, but only once did the male barely move after. Is it guaranteed that he succeeded if they locked? Wondering if he shot a blank lol.

Nothing is guaranteed. Only time will tell. Watch her behavior and make sure you have a dig box setup for her when the time comes.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
