Ive been reading in a lot of places that you can extend the shelflife of bsfl by storing them between 50-60 degrees.

Has anyone ever tried storing them in a wine fridge? I know a lot of wines ideal storage temps are also between 50 and 60, so i would think it would work? I know its kind of an expensive solution for worms that are so cheap, but I like to buy them in bulk, and i prefer to only feed my dragons bsfl once per day, so this could be ideal.

Yeah if you have a wine fridge or fridge with an adjustable thermostat it will work well. I keep mine in a wine fridge.

About how long do they last in this sort of enviroment? And what temp do you keep them at? This, and just discovering the whole 2000 bsfl for 32 bucks, its a game changer for me :)

When I use the wine fridge they go in with the reds at 55. That will keep them for a month or so but I've always fed them off more quickly than that. I've never dealt with a shipment of more than about 200 at a time. That's the optimal temp range though (50-60). My most recent order I just put the cup in the bin (the full cup, not dumped out) with the supers in the basement because it was around 60 down there. The supers seemed to prefer the BSFL substrate and jumped in. A lot of the BSFL disappeared after what looked like a shed. Not sure if they were attacked by the supers (I thought they were just scavengers) or if maybe I just fed them off more quickly than I thought. They will stay separated again next time

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
