There ya go! Just bunker down and enjoy it =) I miss the big snows from my time in Western NY. There are a lot of options for battery backup (most are much cheaper than a generator). You can get one designed for a single PC or one designed for a server. For the most part, the more money you put into it, the more run time you get. It mainly just comes down to what fits your budget. APC makes some really nice stuff. I have an APC rackmount style backup designed for servers (it just sits under the table the tank is on). APC SMT1500RM2U http://www.amazon.com/APC-Smart-UPS-SMT1500RM2U-1440VA-Rackmount/dp/B004F09CVO On the other end of the spectrum, you could get a simple desktop style backup like this one which would provide lights during short power outages http://www.amazon.com/APC-BE750G-Saving-Battery-Back-UPS/dp/B000Z80ICM/ Lots of good options to fit different budgets.

My meds are in liquid form and they added an apple flavor to make it good. I've never heard of powder. Hopefully tracie can chime in and tell us that that's the right stuff.

Thanks cooperdragon! I'll show my husband these options- he's an embedded software programmer - he's the electronics/computer expert in the house :)

Hi Jenna, I expected a liquid myself but the pharmacist said the Rx was written for capsules to be opened and sprinkled on food. Seems like a pretty inexact way to get the meds in. I'll ask for liquid for next month. I'm assuming we'll still need to go another month. It's a blue powder... It was "compounded" right in the pharmacy. Is yours in a dropper? That would be so much better!

Thx again,
Gab

Mix the powder with a teaspoon of applesauce or baby food . Ask the vet for a 1ml syringe and put it in his mouth and let him eat from the syringe until it's gone. A syringe without a needle. Also, I am prescribed 20 grams per ml and I only give .01mls a day to an adult bearded dragon.

Wait for traci's opinion but I guess you have to trust your vet prescribed it right. Did she weigh your dragons and give that info to the pharmacy ? I feel like they would have said something if it was the wrong dosage for such a small body weight.

Thanks for posting that article. Dundee was on Voriconazole 20mg/ml for a while and after two rounds of treatment it appears to have eliminated his fungal infection. Each round was .2ml once daily for 30 days.

Hello Gabrielle,

I hope you are going to be able to stay warm & that your power holds up, too. The hand warmers should help out a lot. Do you have a generator? The APC back up batteries are nice, we have one too.

Did the vet dose her according to her weight though?
I can break that down for you if wanted to mix it into a liquid suspension to be sure she is getting an exact amount. The powder capsule is 5mg, total correct?
Between the sources, I think anywhere from 5-10mg/kg for her would be ideal. I can dose it better for you if you need, just let me know.
How is she doing today?

I hope she is feeling better & will turn a corner, too. :D

Hi All,
We still have power and so far there don't seem to be a lot of outages from this storm. :) I'm not sure how much we got so far. Only about 6" on car but about 14-16" on driveway. Cold and windy tho. Pic looking out window.

Hermies scab which was partially dislodged yesterday fell off completely today and I snapped a pic.

Today:

Awful I know but I kinda think there's been improvement - tho I have no medical background. What do you all think?
To give you an idea... Here's the wound a week (or 2?) ago.

Outside of scab: (has silver cream on it)

Inside of scab:

Gross I know but if I send this to vetdna can they give any insight as to what we are dealing with? And how best to treat it?

I would love if you can help me to get it into a solution Tracie - I'll send you a pm.

Thx all!
Gabrielle

Sorry to gross everyone out again...

Hermies poop today looks strange. She did not poop yesterday if that tells ya anything. Could it be due to the voriconazole which just started yesterday?

And when we got Hermie and Nammer in Sept, Hermie was slightly bigger than Nammer.

Here they are today. Kinda sad when you see where Hermie should be. Poor Hermie.

Gnight all.
Btw- Never lost power! Yeah!!

Yes, Nammers has sure passed Hermie in size. I do think the area that lost the scab does look better than previously. That's wonderful! Once this is resolved, Hermie will catch up to Nammers. :D

Hello Gabrielle,

I pm'd you with the information on how to mix it into liquid for better dosing.
I think it does look better. I wish that they could seal it up some to help it heal up better.
You know, I am not sure if Ernie could run a test on the scab, but I can ask if you want? It is an idea.
Her stool does look strange! It is likely the meds kicking in to some extent.
Poor Hermies, she has been surpassed in size no doubt. I hope one day she is able to get caught back up.

I am glad you all didn't lose power!

Our official town total was 21" of snow!

Jenna and cooperdragon, did your dragons poop turn colors when it was on voriconazole? Hermies poop is blue today.

Shd I be worried?

Dundee's poop didn't turn blue like that. The Voriconazole he was on was clear though as I recall (and smelled like watermelon). I'm not sure what would turn the poop that color.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
