I purchased some slate tiles for my beardie's tank and need to know if the tiles need to be sealed first. Those of you using slate, did you seal it? I'm worried about the droppings seeping into the tile if I don't seal it, but also worried about using a chemical sealer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

I didn't seal mine! Some people grout them in place but I leave them loose so I can take them right out and clean them - Havn't heard of anyone using sealant on them though so don't think it's necessary

I've got tiles in my tank (don't think they're slate but similar) and I sealed them. It's not hard, they sell sealant at the hardware store right by the tiles. Makes so any liquids bead right off :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
