The photo's were before baking, everything will dry lighter and will look like stone thanks to the salt
Ok, so this is an experiment. I want to see how long the salt dough will take direct heat from the basking light. I also have not sealed this yet as I don't know if the modge podge will peel under the heat. Guess we'll find out
This took ALOT of dough. 4cups flour, 4cups salt and about 2& 1/2 cups warm water with 2 or 3 drops of veggie oil. It must weigh about 5lbs! (about the same weight as the natural stone one)
The very light grey color took 60drops of food coloring! 20blue, 20red and 20yellow to make black, which turns to grey with the ivory colored dough. (you may have to adjust. I found a slight purple hue, until I added anoth 2drops red)
I reserved 1/3rd of the dough without color to twist the grey and ivory together.
The dark pink was 3drops red and the light pink was only one. The green/yellow were pre-made food color.
There is also a slight incline and the shape is specific to the placement of Myah's basking light. (I can't change where the light is as it's a hood set-up)
I'm looking for opinions, please feel free to comment.
Thanks, -Holly-
