would it be possible to instead of making a salad everyday to premake it in like bulk? i dont mind making it daily but greens unfortunately dont last super long, especially not mustards. would cutting it all up and putting it in some sort of container make things last longer? it would also be easier for when someone else has to take care of him. if so is there a specific container that you guys recommend to keep stuff fresh for longer?

You can do that -- I use to do it - the trick is to keep the greens as dry as possible in the fridge - I dont buy mustard greens anymore they go bad too fast -- I keep collard turnip and kale and buy argula when I can - I cant always get it

is there a certain kind of container you recommend for it? like one thats airtight or breatheable? i'll definitely be drying off my greens now.

We use a "salad saver" for the hydroponic greens we grow. The one linked is way too big to actually use for beardie salad but I don't like the smaller ones I've used enough to recommend a specific product.

I use a smaller rubbermaid brand for Beebz stuff but it doesn't work quite as well as the big one I linked does for the stuff our family eats.

The important elements are somthing at the bottom that lifts the salad off the bottom of the container. Any water pools underneath the salad off the leaves. You also want a small vent that allows any gasses to escape.

It works best when the container is filled but not packed tight. You want everything to be able to "breathe".

@KarrieRee is right about removing as much excess water as possible prior to storing but be careful not to crush the leaves as that will cause them to decompose faster.

*edit* This one looks pretty good for a small container. It looks like it uses a better design than the small rubbermaids to keep the salad lifted which is the most important part.

*edit2* oh and you mentioned cutting it up. Whole leaves last  much longer than cut leaves. The less damage to the cellular structures the longer its going to keep

Some people have had good luck portioning out full salads into an ice cube tray with a top or other similar sealable container and just thawing out small pieces as needed.

I typically wash and trim greens when I get them home from the store and then put them in a ziploc bag (usually in large pieces about the size of my hand) with a folded paper towel and then just remove the air and put them in the crisper drawer. Then I take out a piece and cut it up as needed. As mentioned, some greens hold up better than others, but I can get a week or two (more for things like collards, less for things like dandelion greens) storing them this way.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
