I got Lizzy in January from an owner that really did not give him the best of care. On sand, fed him lettuce and crickets, let him roam their house most of the time, no UVB. All the no nos. Like the 2nd day after we had him, he pooped in his viv and it was the most God awful smell you could imagine. Seriously horrific. We were in bed in the next room (french doors closed) with our dog and she jumped up and kept sniffing and whining in the direction of the viv, and it wasn't long before we could smell it too. Thru the doors. I really wondered about whether or not I could have some thing that smelled that badly in our home. Then I came here and read that they could be taught to poop in the bath and he took to that well. Really, when he did that, I could not smell it, so it seemed like a good solution. After that, he ONLY pooped in the bath, and we never had anymore stinky poop repeats. In June, I damaged his tail, and we went to the vet who said that the damaged part of the tail needed to go. By that time, the tail was infected and smelled bad, so after removing the dead tail, the doc gave me Baytril which he advisd me to inject under the skin 3 times a week for about 3 weeks. The infection wasnt quite gone, so he gave me another antibiotic to inject under the skin every other day. I think this one was called Cefta or something like that. The tail is now healed and he's been fine for months. Last Saturday, he was out and pooped on the floor. This is the first time, since the horrible poop incident that he has pooped out of the bath and it did not stink. At all, really. Not that I go around sniffing lizard poop, but as soon as I saw him twitching the tail I thought we were going to have a stinky poop repeat, but it didnt stink. I even smelled it when I picked it up and there was a faint smell, but nothing like that first whopper! And there was plenty of it! I read on here that if they have parasites it can cause really stinky poop, so I am wondering if maybe he had parasites when I got him and the antibiotic regimen that we did killed them? Anybody have any ideas?

some times the diet will cause them to have stinky poops... so maybe his really stinky poop was from the previous owners diet and since he is eating better now... not so stinky now..?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
