Hehe. It's funny how sometimes you go to get advice about a decision and end up making the decision yourself just by going through the process of typing it out. Glad Stanly's still doing okay. I have no doubt you will provide an infinitely better home for him than he had before!

hahaha... I'll have hubby out finding suitable log/branches for him, there will be a tub of bleach solution at the back door and I'll be baking sticks all day. HA!

I kept reading "mealworms" on websites, but my hesitation with them is the same as it would be with my beardies. Impaction issues you'd think right? I mean they can't be all that different? So I think I'll opt for some micro supers for him at this age in addition to the dubias. He did eat a few crickets.

He seems to be adjusting well. I am still waiting on humidity gauge. All the ones in Petco say they are at 60% in the box. This is the one I got for my dubia tank, and it said it was 70% humidity and it felt dry as a bone in there. I refuse to buy a defective gauge. Pet store should have them for me soon.

I am misting several times daily and he has about 1/3 of his tank as water. I use clean bottled water and change it the minute he goes pooh. I use the professional cleaner on his water dish and then rinse it well since he does drink out of it and then add the water. I also use a damp hand towel on part of top of his screen cover.

He did have a pooh where his urates were tinged with blood. I had talked to Tracie about running fecals on him, and was giving him a week to adjust to new home, etc. But I think with the blood am going to run fecal on first pooh I get and then treat accordingly. I hope I have the meds on hand for it or off to vet we go. I have Albon, Toltrazuril and Panacur. Will have to see. I think the little guy needs climbing sticks and was thinking that I should get some even if he has parasites. I was using disposable cage stuff (boxes for a hide/basking spot) but I could go get new sticks outside, soak them in bleach and bake them. If he poops on them I just have a little supply handy. He mostly poohs in his water anyway. It's not like they don't come by easily. Might settle him down a bit more. Just talked myself into that one.

do they sell a water filter for those tanks? would that work with cleaning out the poo?

I believe the digital thermometer that I got at WalMart also reads humidity. I never use it because we live in a desert climate. They are in the aisle with the outdoor thermometers, very close to the light bulbs at my store.
I hope you can find something that works!

Wow Marcy! He's insanely handsome! I've never actually seen one of those before. Way to go for taking on such an interesting soul. He looks ten times better then when you got him already!

Thank you!!! He is doing much better. I think.. I am still monitoring him. He may get a vet visit here in the next week if things don't improve. But honestly I am NOT impressed with our vet. He has no internet access at the clinic, couldn't identify pinworms in a fecal and I live in a small town in AK where there are very few options. I'll see what else I can do.

But he is settling in.. loves when my husband holds him. He tries to run up my husband's arm and kind of scares me because he is SO fast!!!!! I mean REAL fast.. WOW... Far cry from that lethargic baby we brought home. His jawline is turning blue. Is very beautiful. I will see if I can get a picture of that. I am wondering if some of his brown skin is a retained shed... Tracie you have any ideas on that one? I'll post more pics. Some of him is brilliant green but some of him is still drab brown.

He is very interesting. I am certainly having fun and Gimpy is getting over being so jealous there is ANOTHER creature in the house, a dragon type thinggggggg! I think he'd be pissed if it wasn't my husband's baby and I held him a lot more...LOL

It sounds like your new baby is doing really well. And the brown could be retained shed. Try using a soft bristled toothbrush with the next bath, see if you can loosen it up some. If that doesn't work pure cocoa butter will. just smear it on the shed and run gently & without too much effort it will come off. Check with Tracie first though, I've never taken care of a CWD, but it works on beardies. And more pics, when you can, looking forward to seeing that bright blue!

Well Stanley continues to be a handful and we are treating him for coccidia. As soon as this treatment is done he will go into a much larger enclosure and I hope all will be well with him.

Let me see if I can get a picture of him that shows his colors good. I think he is about to shed? But his crest is starting to get taller and the line by his eye is getting more prominent. His jawline can appear amazingly blue and his throat a pretty peach color. He is definitely my husband's lizard but I think is realizing that I am not scary either.

Water dragons move so fast they are almost scary!! (At least to me) I am always afraid he'll get away from me and be accidentally hurt. My husband is great with him. We have his humidity better now with a fogger and hope he continues to do better. Coccidia be gone!

I agree, parasites are such a pain, hopefully the meds work. But it sure sounds like he's found a great home, if his colours are coming out like you say & he's shedding, then he's definitely recovering nicely from what he looked like when you got him. It will be great to see pics of him & add some pics of your dragons, too!

These didn't come out the greatest. The one pic is blurry (my camera was acting up GRRRR) but you can at least see that he is so much greener than he was when I first got him. The line by the eye is starting to become prominent and his crest is starting to get longer. The second pic is clearer but it did not capture the color AT all. I cant' win, either the camera won't focus or the color is all wrong! SMASH! LOL

I'll see if I can't get the camera to do a better job. We are working on an enclosure for him this weekend so I hope to have pics of that coming soon.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
