light question...

This is the hood that I have on my viv...

The owner of a reptile store up here(not the store where I bought Puff and Kiera) told me that these hoods were no good because the heat from the basking lights would ruin my UVB light and that my UVB would be no good after about three weeks. Does anybody know if that could be true?

Cindy one of my customers use that set up and dont have any problems. You will be fine! Just my 2cents, good luck.

Thanks Lance...that makes me feel much better...I love the set up, and felt very lucky when i found the fixture and the huge viv on Craigslist for an amazing price!!

I have the slider hood for Pookie (but with extra sockets) and it doesn't affect the UV at all.

That's good to know...I didn't think what he told me could possibly have been right, but wanted to ask to be sure.
