The Jury is still out on that one.
LED's were going to be part of my study on CFL's (uvb and non) but due to the extreme lack of info and studies on them, had to be ommited.

What application are you hoping to use them in? They can't be used as a basking bulb which makes their only real use adding light to the tank.

Personally, i'd go with the tried and tested to be safe, and let the experimenting be done by someone else.

Thank you for your reply.
I had planed on adding LED's to the cool side for better viewing. The basking bulb I use is excellent for providing proper temperatures but my viv still looks a little dim.
I agree that experimenting is not worth any risk. I do however think I'll contact a few local exotics vet to shed more light on this subject, no pun intended

I agree this coupe be useful especially when moving to bigger sizes I could see problems getting the right amount of light for viewing and they tend to be fairly inexpensive if they're safe

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
