Hilarious and Relaxing Bath Behavior

Hi Yall SO just sharing.... :mrgreen:

Blue loves her bath. i mean, i cant get into the mind of a beardie, but she has the most hilarious yet relaxing (even for me!) lol....
This is how a typical bath goes:
Tupperware Tub with niiiiiiiiiiice warm water...about up to her "armpits"...so that she can touch the bottom.
About 3 minutes into the bath......POOP! ahhhhhhhhhhh yes. lol
empty it out, rinse with hot water, refill with clean warm water...
i cup my hand in the water and let is trickle down over her face and mouth, she closes her eyes, and already being inflated for bouyancy, she starts to almost what looks like conk out (she is just REALLY relaxed, eyes close) and then get so relaxed she start to slowy tip to the left side, very slowly, eyes still closed, then when she realizes she is leaning to one side, she opens her eyes and snaps back to reality...gets back into position, closes those eyes again, ends up doing the same thing...its soooooooooo awesome, then lean is so slow and subtle, relaxes me!
Its so funny that she starts to do "the lean" and then realizes it, like "oh hey, wow, ok, im leaning, mmmmmmmm this feels good but im leanin', time to get straight again, ok there, mmmmmmmm yes"
automatic ZEN again. I love it. She seems to love it, today she didnt want to get out! i started her on baths at super early age, so she expets them everyday i think, which ofcourse, i do lol.

I feel more relaxed just having read that..in fact I'm starting to list to one side.. he he he!
Norris really loves his baths, too. No stress at all, right from day one. He doesn't swim around, he just lays on my fingers in the water which is how I introduced him to baths...he's still a baby and I've had him four weeks but he's had a bath every day. He sips the water and puts his chin right down to the water level and then just zens out. He goes all creamy and happy until the water cools off. For an arid animal they sure do seem to like water!

That is the best story, it's got me tipping out of my chair I just read it out loud to Eight hoping to show her that it's okay for a lizard to like a bath. She'll sit still for Mom for all about a minute then it's... "Where's the way out, here? JUMP-SPLASH. Nope, that's not working, wait, I'll run over here and try it again. JUMP-SPLASH! MOMMMYYYYY GET ME OUT, this water is wet!!!!!

@Mirthy YES a warm bath is (for alot of them not all ) like a slice a heaven! like ZEN ZEN ZEN. sometimes Blue will put her head down and swim around, mostly as of now she just sits and does the "Blue Lean" tip over. Thats great that you started your baby out on baths too Its just the coolest bonding expirience too I do like it when she does the head down lizard swim its so awesome too. YAY FOR BATHS!!!!!!

@8Eight8 lol that is FUNNY! total spaz bather eh? like ahhhhhhhhhhh! what the hello?!?!? teehee. Blue used to do that to, but now she just is sooooooo opposite. i totally know what you are talking about!! She does get a little splashy right before she poops, like doing the "poop dance" to find the right place. ha!

Im glad yall found the story so relaxing! awwwww, and .......if i get a video of it i will let you know!! I NED to get a video of it actually!!

Our beardie is a spaz bather as well. He will go in, poop, then afterwards splash around like crazy trying to get out.

Seems like Puff is a common name for bearded dragons, my dragon's name is Puff.

well hey, its a great song, a great story....and what better dragon to name your dragon after then the one and only Puff AND, im sure no two Puffs on here are alike lol, its a wonderful name!

Well, today the water was a little higher than normal, and WOAH did she swim. dipped her head underwater and did the beardie torpedo swim. then stopped, and did the "Blue Lean" ........ gotta love it!!! i tried to get a video, but i dint have my camera with the good video option on it. it woulda been a crappy vid. booooooooo on me. i got some pics though!!!! i will upload them soon!!!
after her bath she fell asleep in her burrito, then crawled under a pillow on the couch and took a short nap. hadda wake her up to get her back under her lamp to warm up. i will upload thos pics now :mrgreen:

Haha I guess so, I've certainly heard it my share of times around the site
"Puff the bearded dragon lives with the slave and frolics in the lovely warmth, of his/her dragon cave!" :roll: lol I'm certainly no songwriter... But I loved that movie when I was little, and I thought the name was very appropriate

That is so cute! Pictures? (Horus does something similar, but when he tips he won't wake up, literally falls asleep. Have to constantly watch him.)
