Hey guyes, as you may seen my posts around, its been 7 years since my last beardydragon, and ive had a albino leopard carrot tail as seen in my signature! he's so cool 8) , but im thinking of getting one again, and as mine was out 24/7, i never setup an enclosure. All i had was a spot with a head pad, water and uv lighting for him, Can people tell me please the following information.

  • Best type of tank, glass or wood?
Size of tank for 1-2 beardies:
    Different Lighting's:
    Or and a undertank heatmat:
Subrate, i (Love) sand, and the beardie i am looking at is 2 year's old:
    Temp Gages:
    Plant's ect,
and any pictures of really good setups!
I have around £200 to begin withh!

Thankyou SO much!

  • Best type of tank, glass or wood?Depends, if your making your own or buying. They both are equally well.
Size of tank for 1-2 beardies:size for one adult is 4x2x2 in feet (for room to be comfortable) Normally, we don't recommend more than one dragon per tank.
Different Lighting's:Uvb: reptisun. Bulb that produces white light heat. For winter you might want a CHE
Or and a undertank heatmat:No need for one
Subrate, i (Love) sand, and the beardie i am looking at is 2 year's old:If your dead set on sand: Washed playground sand. I would recomend slate tiles though since it costs like 5$ for a substrate for life. Just wipe clean.
Temp Gages:You want a thermometer/hydrometer with a probe and wire. Not a dial, or stick on one.
Plant's ect,Just whatever you want for your beardie to climb on. I don't recommend real plants as it would raise the humidity possibly and would get eatten
and any pictures of really good setups!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
