Head Deformity

Hi there. I'm new here. We adopted a young Beardie from Petco about a month ago. He's been doing very well, active, eating, and growing. He just completed a shed the other day but now I'm noticing he has an area on the back of head near his ears/spikes that is missing (on the right side in the picture). Definitely not symmetrical. I'm thinking with him getting larger and then the shed, it's noticeable then before. It looks like a deformity but not sure. I've googled all day to see if anything similar but no luck. Thinking of looking into vets near but hoping to see if anyone else has witnessed something similar. It doesn't look infected or anything. Thanks! (Trying to post picture too)

I see what you mean, and it won’t cause him issues as long as he doesn’t show signs of distress or pain. Petco dragons don’t usually have the best genetics (due to the majority being from reptile mills) and will often have some sort of issue like that, or illness from improper care. Not a concern in my books.

He looks great otherwise, and sounds like he is strong and healthy. Great work with him :)

I see it in that pic also, I agree with J4ckdae, I don't think it will effect his quality of life.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
