Gray Patch of Skin

Hey, I'm looking for help with my Bearded Dragon. My little guy is around 10 months old, he's relatively active but usually prefers to relax and bask for most of the day. Recently I've found a peculiar patch of skin on his back has become a sort of dull gray. Normally I wouldn't worry, since graying skin would generally mean he's going to shed soon. My worry comes from the fact that this patch of skin is a bit darker than it usually is when he sheds. I'm hoping that it's just me overreacting but anything is possible so I'd like to get the opinion of more experienced lizard owners. I haven't contacted a Vet yet but at this rate that's probably going to be the next step.

I've never posted to this (or any) forum before so I'm just gonna hope that this works and that the images post as well, I just want my best friend to be okay :?

I believe that she may be ready to head in the spot, I would not be too conerdend about this. It is often the case :) My little baby Beard, Smokee, often has grey spots such as this and they always turn out to be shedding. However, if it continues to worry you or seems to be effecting your little Beard badly (e.i. not eating), taking her to the very cannot hurt.

Hi there, I agree that it's a harmless patch of skin shed and is pretty common. You can give him a light spritz in his tank during the day with a spray bottle to help with shedding if you like but it will come off on it's own with or without doing so. A lukewarm 10 minute bath [ not too late in the day ] can also help, but put him right back in the tank afterwards. Having a good basking log to rub his shedding skin can help as well.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
