Food in her Lungs!? :0

So I was trying to feed Myah with the oral dosing syringe (squash baby food) and she bit down on the end. I dispensed the food (approximately 0.4 on my 1cc syringe) Then she froze, like she was stunned. She ran from my lap to my pillow on my bed and coughed hard. She looked like she was trying to vomit while coughing. She's sitting beside me right now trying to sleep but she'll wake up and cough. What do I do!?

If she aspirated the food and can't get it all out with coughing, she may well end up with a URI. If she's sleepy enough to stay where you put her, put her on a pillow with her head facing downhill and see if you can get gravity to help out a little. If there is foreign matter in her lungs, they'll probably produce mucous to deal with the irritation and try and help get it out, so letting it drain may help.

I might be overly cautious, but I'd probably take her to the vet if she's not better within a day so s/he can listen to her lungs with a stethoscope and determine whether they are clear or not.

The Vet is an absolute go if she's not better, I just really want to hear opinions on how long I should wait. I can't do anything til fri.
