Exo-Terra Sand Mat

Hello fellow Beardie owners!

Today well I was down at my local pet store, they had the sand mats from Exo-Terra in stock, and decided to take a peek at them, and my honest opinion is,

Pros:
They are a great product for desert animals.
Gives excellent grip for walks around, and doesn't have loops and fabric lizards can get stuck in and hurt them
Seems easy to clean as mat is non-absorbent

Cons:
The sand rubs off with force, they are rough bigger stones/sand pieces that come loose and can be digested.
To me cleaning it can cause the rocks to become dislodged with aggressive cleaning.

But over all this is all from just feeling and rubbing at the mat within package so it might be a good product once all the loose pieces are rubbed off

Hey thanks for this review. I was considering the sand mat, but they are not sold here yet. How loose are the particles, and are the stones real stones? Also, what is the mat made of, as in what is the sand glued to?

Sorry for the late response been quite busy! I haven't bought this mat yet because I haven't needed it yet, but all the particles are glued down and are secured but rubbing the mat will dislodge the not 100% secured pieces. and the stones/sand are real instead of being the fine sand this is a bit more coarse. The mat is made out of the fiber mat but it seems to be a finer fiber mat, and the sand and such is glued straight onto this mat.

As stated above, I haven't bought this yet, so I wouldn't be able to tell you, hopefully some other person will have experience in this.
