Dubia Roaches - Calcium Content?

Hello everyone.

So, Falcor & I have jumped on the dubia roachy bandwagon also!

I bought 100+ dubia's from Ian at the roach ranch to start my own colony, which he is AWESOME by the way, shipping & packing was outstanding to Minnesota!

I've seemed to forgot to ask a somewhat important question though, anyone have an idea of the calcium content in roaches, or are they mainly for protein?

I've been dusting Falcor's superworms, but not the roachies, should i be? Falcor is 7-8 months old, so she's still under a year old. I dust everything I feed Falcor with calcium, but have been noticing that her urates are harder & chalky, so I may back off with the calcium, it may be too much? She also gets baths every day, and she cleans off her vegetable bowl with ease everyday, so no worry about dehydration, at least I don't think so with the urates.

That depends on how much calcium you put on em. Dust them roaches up just like you would a cricket or meal worm. And I don't know if you're a football fan (besides roaches... Football is my religion) but since my boys the Patriots got murdered I'm switching gears to my brothers secondary team of choice. Them Minnesota Vikings! They'd better not let me down like the Cardinals did last year!

heheheeh, i am originally from pennsylvania and most of my family still lives there, so i'm a huge steelers fan when it comes to football, it's just in your blood there!! so sorry about the cardinals last year...i hope you'll still ship my roaches out after hearing that LOL!!!!!

i'm so-so into the vikings, it's just not the same compared to pittsburgh, fans up here are very fair-weathered LOL !!! I hope they win, but i'm still iffy about the whole brett farve thing...i believe its just a huge marketing ploy to get the vikings a new stadium, which I'm against...I give away too much money to this state to have something else take my money away! Minnesota is more of a hockey state, that's the big thing here, people go nuts for the wild, oh, and they like their twins baseball, now, i've always liked the twins since waaayyy back!

I dust my roaches too.

And think of how I feel down here a Redskins fan since I was a kid and we are one of the worst teams in the league this year. So, I am on the Vikings wagon this weekend with ya, Ian. Especially, since they are going against my most hated rival! Duck Fallas!! Go Vikings!!! ;-)

Hi Ian, the vikes won!

i'm just happy dallas is out...i dislike dallas....LOL it's going to be hard to beat New Orleans though...I like the Saints too, but I'll have to root for the Vikings!
