Does anybody have any ideas for a DIY harness? Or if anyone has made one can you post a picture or tell me how you did it? I am looking at the harnesses and I almost feel like I could make one myself of better quality.

Also, toothless is only 9 inches long so at what size do you start training them to walk on a harness? He gets kind of spazy outside and I know the sunshine is good for him, I just want to get him out there and keep him safe at the same time. Right now I am using a rubbermade tub but if it's not the middle of the day it is shadowed because the walls are so steep.

EDIT: here is the one I made myself :)

I havn't had much luck making my own, but I know a few people on the site who make pretty harnesses for great prices.

For smaller beardies, OgleRpets and Drag-a-longs make cute leashes with many colors and patterns. :)

Drag-a-long- http://www.drag-a-longs.com
OgleRpets- http://oglerpets.com/lizard-leashes.php

When they get bigger, this person makes amazing and stylish harnesses!

Dragon Tamer Lizard Lead- http://dragontamerlizardlead.webs.com

None of them are more than 12 dollars- even with shipping. :)

never mind I figured it out. I really like the ones on the 3rd website although I see they are for larger lizards and it will be a while before mine gets that big. I actually cut a piece of one of those reusable publix bags with a piece of string, I just have a hard time getting my lizards front legs to stay through the leg holes long enough for me to get the string secure. Once i got him in it, it works alright, but he can occasionally get his legs out, lol. Oh well, at least he is getting some time outside in the sun!

I can't figure out how to order from the second website

Here. It was in really teeny writing near the bottom XD

Please e-mail me with your Leash choice, Country, and PayPal address and I will send you an invoice for the one(s) that you choose.

Here is an updated video of him in his harness after I have made some modifications. I made the leg holes bigger and found a string from an old mesh bag to use.

I apologize for the shakiness of the camera.

yeah, the clamp I have seems too big but I couldn't find anything smaller, and the ones on the websites seem just as big and bulky. The first piece of string I used was smaller but I had to tie it and that was difficult with a wiggly dragon. The clamp is easier to slide tight enough so it is secure. It looks bulky but doesn't seem to bother him too much.

that looks nice!

i had used a shoelace when Mr Dargon was little, then i cut up a microfiber cloth when he was a little bigger. after so many modifications we now have his harness that i sell.

if you ever make anything that your dragon loves (or tolerates) that other people can use you should sell it. even if you only make a few dollars, that's still money to go to food for your beardie. at least that's where all my money goes...

i personally use a iguana leash for maxwell, he hates the harnesses anything behind his back legs he starts puffing out trying to get it off lol so i bought an iguana leash and i just use the head part and he likes that alot better.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
