Cupids new house is here! It is actually 4 ft long x 2 ft deep x 2 feet tall. It came with a long exoterra reptiglow 8.0 uvb. It starts at one corner of the top in the back and goes to the front opposite corner. It is a lot bigger than the reptisun 10.0 she has in her current enclosure. There is also a place for two heat bulbs on opposite sides of the enclosure. I have currently been using a 50 watt zoomed nocturnal infared heat. should i put that in one side and a different one on the other side? im not sure how to set this up.

I tried to get a pic of the lighting.

pls let me know what bulbs to put in? one of them is burned out but im not sure what it is.
also, how close should the basking spot be to the heat source?

I am not an expert by any means, but from what I read they should be at least 8 in. from the actual heat source. I have also read that the red lights are not really good for them. You can use a regular household bulb (not coil bulb). You may need to play around with the wattage once you can check your temps. with your digital thermometer (keeping basking side between 95 to 110 and have a cool side around 80 - 85).

There is also no need to even have a night heat source unless the enclosure goes lower than 62 degrees. If it does get lower than 62 I suggest getting a CHE (ceramic heat emitter). This will provide heat without giving off any light. I also put in a little piece of fleece fabric in my beardies enclosures as they like to snuggle up on it at night. Beardies prefer darkness when they sleep.

I hope this helped a little. Good luck!

Try petmountain.com. I usually get my bulbs from there and I am certain that they have 48". They are reasonably priced and usually have sales going on.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
