I have become very concerned about Nelson over the past couple of days, while he seems bright enough in himself he hasn't eaten anything for two days now.
He has been eating large hoppers and wax worms without any problems and also crickets but he's just not interested in anything, he completly turns his nose up at any kind of greens, i have tried hand feeding him but still no interest.
Is this normal for them to go off their food or could there be a more serious problem?

Question from the confused person - the large hoppers are those mice you are/were feeding Nelson?

No hoppers are locusts, and no Q is stupid!!

Is he still basking or is he spending a bit more time at the cool end/sleeping a bit more??

He has pooped while on hunger strike but he has also tended to stay in the cool end of the viv.
He now seems to be very quiet and withdrawn which up till now just isnt like him.
He was displaying some rather odd behaviour this afternoon, it was like he was pacing back and forward and scratching the sides of the viv, which ive not seen him do before?

He could be trying to slow down for winter and start brummination, If your temps are all ok, i would pop a fecal sample into the vets to rule out any parasites.

I did think that he could be going through brummination but im not completly sure so im going to take Nelson to the vets and get him checked out, i just hope and pray he's going to be ok im so worried about him!!!!

You always worry about them, i did last winter, i thought Gizmo was dying! Hopefully the vet can either figure out whats wrong or reassure you. If your set up hasnt changed (forgot to ask what UVB bulb you use) and the temps are ok (measured with a digital therm) it will prob be brummination.

How were his last poop? smelly? formed?

Ive been a complete and utter mess with worry about Nelson....
Im using a euro rep bulb which ive been reassured is ok but then again i might of been given the wrong advice.
He has pooped and all seemed normal....

Ive not heard of them, who recommended it? Here in the UK the arcadia 12% is the best, its very cheap also. How new is the bulb?

Ive just looked at their wesite, and if you are using the own brand:

http://www.eurorep.net/retail/index.php?cPath=225_226

These dont give out enough UVB at 5% and 2.5% depending on the bulb. Without the proper UVB he wont be digesting his food properly. The arcadia that comes recommended gives 12% UVB. I would try changing the UVB out and see if it improved thigs at all, how long have you been using it for?

My friend has two beardies and recommended the euro bulb.
I actually think Nelson is going through brummination but ive booked an appointment with the vet to get him checked out...

Ok, but unless you can get better UVB emissions than stated on the net it may be a good idea to swap the bulb, The reptisun is 10% so you can see at less than half the recommended UVB output its not good. If you can get hold of a meter to measure UVb output great, otherwise i would really think twice, just beacause your friend uses them dosnt make them good bulbs, and for the same price you can get proven good bulbs.

Just and idea but at the end of the day its your decision, all i can suggest is to really research yourself, and speak to a few other people on here.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
