chewed through mesh!!!

ARRGHHH!!! My crickets chewed through the screen door mesh that was covering their bin!!! I now have crickets all over... I put an extra layer of mesh and a ton of food in, so hopefully no more will get out. I cannot believe they did that...

Sara, go to the hardware store and buy the aluminum screen!!! That will teach them!!! Its cheep!! Good luck!!!!!!!

Boyfriend works at lowe's so I'll have to get that. Although this screen is what the Lowe's guys told me to use... Thanks!

Well the Lowe's guy knows hardware stuff, not crickets. Most bugs have the ability to chew through fiberglass screening. What you need, as was posted already, is aluminum screening. They will NEVER get through that. Put them in their little "jail" cell and keep them...

Which type of fiberglass screen did you use? Did you use "pet" screen or the basic stuff?

I honestly have not had time to get to Lowe's yet. It's been a crazy week. They havn't chewed any more since that one night, though.

I always went to dollar tree and picked up the aluminum mesh used for food. worked great and only a buck.
