Just a quick question on bamboo root. I saw that many people use bamboo root as a basking structure. If I were to go out to a patch of bamboo and harvest the root would it be the same or is it a different species of bamboo?

Edit: Saw many were made of resin. Are they all made of resin? I guess a bamboo root wouldn't last long in heat? lol.

I am very new at this, but i bought some bamboo root from the breeder that i bought my beardie from and it is real bamboo root. I would think that harvesting some yourself would be ok, you just need to make sure that its clean and ur not bringing in bacteria i would think.

I dont have any experience with any other wood, but my beardie seems to like it. Its nice and fat, gives them a good place to bask.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm going to try to dig some up, we have tons of bamboo around here, its just a matter of "is it the right bamboo?" which it may not be.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
