I got my beardi at petsmart oct 3rd (he was a baby then, not sure exactly how old), hes pretty huge now and for the past month hes been eating less and less, getting lazzier and lazzier, and for the past week hes ben in his hide sleeping pretty deeply, and it appears that he didnt loose any weight at all. This seemed like its brumation to me exept for the fact the hes under one year old, which is apparantly very rare in beardies, and on top of that its becoming the summer, could this be brumation!?!?!

That does sound like brumation - especially if he's not eating and not losing weight. It's not unheard of for some to brumate this time of year, and they don't necessarily have to be over a year old.

normally burmation comes after a year of age but depending on when the lizard was born. mine started his first burmation 3 weeks after being a year old. he goes downs in Aug and ends in march. some will burmate in the summer months but it's winter to them. we can't aways base burmation on the season it is where we live. some dragons sleep for month some six, some don't at all. I would check and make sure all is well in your viv temps, uvb ect.

unless you're actually weighing on a gram scale and know for sure he's not dropping any weight, i'd get a fecal done.

I'm wondering why you would have a fecal done? Other than the normal check up.

well you don't want him to go into brumation with parasites- they will eat him up. while he's active and eating, he can carry a parasite load with little or no ill effects. but once he goes into brumation and is not eating- well, what are the parasites going to do? important to clear that possibility, since you can't always tell when they are doing their normal thing if they are carrying parasites.

I see. Myself I'm not gonna have a fecal done before burmation if my lizard is not showing signs of parasites....but to each his own

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
