Calcium

I wasn't sure which Discussion to put this under so I chose General. Gonzo has not been eating therefore has not been getting calcium. I ran out of powder calcium last time I tried to get him to eat crickets. I need to buy more tonight so I am looking for suggestions. If you use liquid instead of powder how do you get the beardie to have it? Gonzo does not drink water and will only occasionally lick when I daily drop water on his mouth. Even in his bath he will not open his mouth at all. She is very stubborn sometimes. Even when I have tried babyfood she will lick it once and if she doesn't like it will not open her mouth again. I hate to go the route of liquid and force it with a syringe so any other suggestions? She always seems to have urate even if no poop so how does she get hydrated?

I think you said in another thread that she just recently stopped eating because you suspect that she's gravid ? If so, it's natural for them to go without food for a few days or even a week at times with no extra nutrients. If she persists for any longer than that, try adding a few drops of calcium with a few drops of either raw honey [ from health store ] or unsweetened fruit juice. Experiment to see what she might like. Until then you really needn't worry, they all stop eating for a bit before egg laying and/or brumation. As long as she's had good nutrition up until now she should be fine.

I don't know if she's gravid or not. Until recently we thought we had a boy. Behavior has been iratic and someone mention maybe eggs if a girl. Vet said he felt something but without an xray can't be sure. We are trying to cover all basis. Thank you for the information. I will buy liquid instead of powder this time.

The powdered is still good since it can be mixed with the fruit juice or honey. I thought you mentioned having liquid calcium....but either will work.
