Just wanted to update this thread for everyone.

The actual owner brought Monster to another vet, and that vet just splinted Monster's leg to his tail, didn't even take an xray after! So upon finding this information out I realize that there must not be ANY good vets in the area, and I still am pretty much at that point. At that point I decided I will just have to go down(to the actual owners house) and fix splint his leg till we can find a good vet, and surgery started to seem like it was the best option. So I went down and got some supplies, and splinted the leg, before splinting it I thought I would try and set the bones a little better. So I did, heard some popping which was pretty rough and kinda cringed. Then wrapped up the splint, which was difficult, cause he kept moving.

Here a picture of the splint

After I told the owner to go get an xray, they did.

I wasn't there, so the vet said he would rewrap it, I have NO idea why, cause the bones in that xray are near about as good as they are going to get. So he unwraps the splint after it had only been on after 3 days, and resplints it. This was not supposed to be part of the plan but the owner didn't know any better. It should have been left alone. Fortunately the bone was only slightly offset after resplinting.

The splint is obviously better than mine, but its complete nonsense that the vet unwrapped his leg while still broken when the set was as good as it was. Fortunately his leg is still lined up pretty well and Im just going to leave it.

I told the owner to file a civil claim against the first vet for malpractice. So, be careful with vets, and make sure you check their work.

Hello,

Oh my! You did a much better job of setting the bone that he did, good grief. That is too bad. He should have left it, I am sorry about that. Hopefully it will just heal up pretty evenly by the time the bone heals over, etc.
Poor dragon, does he seem to be in good spirits right now? How is his appetite?
Let us know how he is doing.

Wow, you did a remarkable job on that bone reduction! Amazing! It was almost perfect, so much better than that first vet even attempted.
It's so sad that in many places there isn't good vet care for bearded dragons or reptiles in general.
I agree the second vet should have left it alone after seeing that great alignment! don't know what he was thinking but at least he didn't totally screw it up.
I hope that little dragon has a good recovery. Does he get anything for pain management? I've heard silk worms have an enzyme that helps with inflammation and pain. I name escapes of it me right now but maybe some silk worms daily might help, or obtaining that enzyme to give.

Oh, found it, it's called Serrapeptase. Maybe it can help make him a bit more comfortable.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
