Hi all.
I have had my beardie for around 10 months now - he's just over a year old. He's always been happy and content in his 4'x2'x2' viv, and although I often handled him I never used to let him run around much (I have a naughty terrier who would just love the opportunity to get to know him!) Anyway recently I decided that he deserved to stretch his legs, so I shut the dog away and just let him roam around for a while. He was a little nervous at first, but soon enough he was rocketing around the place as fast as his little legs would carry him, and investigating every room in the house. Not only has this new-found exercise made him more alert and active - he's also pooping more regularly, has a bigger appetite, and generally just seems a lot healthier. I ought to stress that he was a perfectly healthy dragon to begin with, it's just he's now at the peak of physical fitness! The only problem I've found is that now he's experienced the wider world he constantly craves freedom! I'm woken up in the morning by him scratching away at the glass asking to be let out for a run around before I go to work...
If there are any others here who don't exercise their beardie on a regular basis may I strongly recommend that they try it. You'll find they get a whole new lease of life!
