I know this forum doesn't replace bringing my dragon to a vet, but I just wanted some insight before I drag her out in the cold and stress her out. I rescued this dragon exactly a month ago today. This is the second dragon I've ever had and my first one I got as a baby from a breeder so his health history was always known to me...this dragon is 5 (from what I was told). At first I thought her tail was possibly going through shedding, but like I said...it's been a month since I've had her and nothing has progressed. I've tried everything to facilitate shedding, if this were to be the case, and nothing. Her tail also curls up at the end and kinks if this is any consolation. Can shedding take longer than a month or does this look like a tail rot case? TIA! - Briana

Hi Briana, it has been a long time since you've posted. :) Anyway, that is not tail rot at all. It's very common for beardies tail to darken toward the end whether it's shedding or not. As adults, their sheds linger for a longer time than when they were young. No need to worry or seek a vet, the tail is fine and the dragon looks healthy. :)

BTW, be careful that the vet [ if you take her for anything ] does not try to tel you that's tail rot, it is not. Even some vets think a dark tail is damaged + needs removed and they may recommend an unnecessary amputation.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
