Hey all,

I got my first beardie, Tanis, yesterday. I'm not sure of the gender yet, (s)he's still a juvenile, but I have a 40 gallon breeder tank so I'm trying to keep him(?) happy in there. He seems to like the space and loves the basking rock. However, my parents don't want me to keep live crickets in the house (they're afraid they'll escape). Does anyone have any suggestions on an alternate diet?

So far I've been feeding him small meal worms and trying to coax him into eating some of the packaged pellet food (to no avail). He seems to like the worms, but won't go for any of the greens or pellets.

Anywho, any suggestions for me would be a great help as I'm scared that I'll screw things up.

You don't want to feed mealworms because they are not nutritious and can cause impaction. Try Phoenixworms.com

Crix will be better in the long run tho. They are pretty inexpensive and your baby is going to be eating tons.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
