Hi all,

My bd, Ollie, has always had crix as his staple protein. He also gets a locust or two every other day or so and, recently, one waxworm every saturday morning.

Anyway, he will no longer so much as look at his crix. I put a little bowl with 7 or 8 in his viv in the morning and the same number are there when I get home from work. If, however, I offer a locust he'll literally launch himself at it!

Has Ollie grown bored of crix or have i spoiled things by offering alternatives? I'm not sure what to do now. Should I keep trying with the crix (I kinda thought he would eat them if hungry enough) as locusts are so much more expensive!? He eats some greens, but not that much really. I pretty sure he's healthy; his weight seems to have levelled off at about 420 grams.

After some more research into alternative foods, I would love to try Ollie on Silkworms. However, I'm in the UK where it is very difficult to get them. Even places that list them on their websites don't have stock / availability. If anyone from the UK knows where I can get Silkworms I'd be very greatful.

As an alternative to silkworms which are quite expensive yo could try nutri-grubs they are pretty much the sme as phoenix worms but last longer.
Try the link below-

Thanks for the info. I've managed to find a Silkworm supplier who has stock (lets just hope they turn up) but I'm going to get some of these nutri grubs too. Bit more variety will do no harm.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
