    Rescued a Tegu

Most morphs are just fine to breed together visual or not. The two that need to be avoided is trans on trans as that leads to so many issues that often lead to death in the first days to weeks of life all for the chance at a paradox that is isn't a true morph and can not be reproduced, people...

    Rescued a Tegu

I use springtails, powder blue isopods, giant orange isopods, and dwarf striped grey isopods, and some mealworm bettles. Then obviously the roaches. It works well, the isopods will have a giant tegu poo gone within 24 hours, its impressive, the springtails control any mold and or fungus, and the...

    Rescued a Tegu

Ohh and line the bottom of the enclosure with brick, this will ensure you never have to worry about long sharp claws as they will constantly file them down on the brick digging for roaches. Trying to trim them by hand can be near impossible without help and even then it tough when they don't...

    Rescued a Tegu

Love the enthusiasm but some warnings. Ponds are a bad idea. They will fill it with dirt and clog the pump and fling mud all over, with tegus simple is best as they are big ol excavators and will never leave anything alone. A good bioactive soil, a very heavy large water dish, if it's not heavy...

    Rescued a Tegu

Lots of debate about tefus and brumation, most of us lean towards hibernation not brumation. Brumation is controlled by tempature and metabolism while hibernation is more genetic and is brought on by season regardless of temp, we tend to look at bears in the winter but lots of tropical animals...

    Rescued a Tegu

Temps are off a bit, tegus like a very hot basking spot. I have 2 tefus that I've had since they were hatchlings, they are both 5 now. Basking should peak at 130, yes one hundred and 30 degrees. They require a very large enclosure 8x4x4, I use grow tents, I cut out the inside of the door and sew...

What is the best iguana to buy?

Iguanas can be difficult at times. They definitely are not as easy to tame as a beardie thats forsure. Some will never chill out. In my experience with iguanas rhinos are hands down the most chill.

Patch of white scales/spots? Discolored? (Pics inside)

Yeah, they look like they are about to fall off any time.

Patch of white scales/spots? Discolored? (Pics inside)

Looks like shed, likely a few left over scales from the last shed.

    Thermostats? And bearded dragons?

It really comes down to space and what basking bulb you use. If your using a smaller enclosure like a 40 gallon breeder then a deep dome with a smaller diameter will help contain the heat but in a larger 4x2x2 enclosure you have room to make a large basking area which will generally be...

    Thermostats? And bearded dragons?

Yeah I got babies so they get a bit more heat at the peak spot. But technically the way mine is set up I could leave it as they have mutiple platforms of varying temps. If the highest spot is to hot for an adult it'll just move down a couple inches.

    Thermostats? And bearded dragons?

I like my basking spot to be wider not tighter. That allows for a bigger temp gradient. My basking area ranges from 95 to 115. They get to choose where they want to be within that area. My basking area is about 1/6th of my 4x2x2 enclosure.

No true bud, I don't know why people think you can't sanitize reptile carpet. There are several beardie safe antiseptic cleaners that you can soak the repticarpet in over night, rinse it and let it dry. If you keep ontop of it like you should aka daily spot cleaning and weekly disinfecting then...

Yes they can eat mealworms and super worms just fine. You seem to he ontop of the diet which is great. I'm sure she's loving it. Iceberg is garbage food, it's like giving ducks bread. It's filling but has no real nutrients. Does she have any twitching or shaking? Any wabble when she walks?

Bearded dragon is red at bottem of feet

You realize beardies are perfectly OK staying home alone while you go have a family day. I'd not recommend trying to take it to the beach with you. Your gonna spend all your time making sure the beardie is not to hot or not to cold. It's likely gonna stress out a ton. I don't recommend taking...

Don't wait to switch the coil uv out, they are not adequate for beardies and must be replaced with a t5 reptisun 10.0 or t5 Arcadia 12% or 14%. This is not something I would delay. What are the temps like? Cool side, warm side and basking? She seems a bit underweight from the pic. Hips and base...

    Thermostats? And bearded dragons?

You wont have any issues leaving for that short of time. Most of us have day jobs and our besrdies are left at home for 8 hours or more without anyone around. You shouldn't have to constant move your basking light, I never have to. It ok for there to be little swings in basking temp while your...

    Help with my dragons tail

It looks like old shed, but real old. It appears to be starting to constric the end of the tail. You can see the point where it appears to be constricted about 2 inches up from the tip. Keep a close eye on it. I'd try giving her a bath a couple times a day and lightly rub her tail with a soft...

    My beardie has been posioned?

It really comes down to the pain relief ingredient and concentration and how much he absorbed.
