As far as your sand question, my vet recommended not using sand as a substrate, even for adults. They can get it in their eye, get infections, or impaction. I've heard of users on here making digging boxes with alfalfa in it.

I've had Gladiator for about two months. He's around a year and a half. He's shed his beard and his legs twice, now, but not his body or tail? Has anyone else had this issue?

Silver, my beardies stool was like that right after starting him on silkworms and hornworms. It could just be from a change in diet.

I cut up a spaghetti squash and boil it. My little guy shook his head to fling it out of his mouth! My older girl LOVES squash, though. I tried grating it, but they hated that, too.
