the red bulb should be removed entirely. they are not good for them. if you need extra heat you can get a heat emitter. they put out heat but no light.

i am so heart broken for you! now i am questioning set up too to prevent such an instance. when you are ready, could you please post a pic of how the hide was placed, even if only in private message, or at least a description. i'd like to make sure we don't have the same potential hazard going...

i can't tell where you are from your profile. here is a link to help you find a vet. for us, it is a 2 hour drive each way to get to a vet, but it is well worth it.

if it is warm enough depending on where you are, you can take your beardie outside for some natural UVB too

oh trust me, i know it! we rescued sir henry of scales near death when he was about 6 months old. finding this forum and following the advice given here literally saved his life. he's gonna be 4 years old mid-june and is a healthy, beefy, prime example of a dragon that likes to sit in windows...
