Is this dark spot normal ?

It comes and goes, right now it's really noticeable since he's starting to shed in that area so the shedding contrasts with it. Tank is 50gal UVB (reptisun 10.0 inside tank) + UVA (~110F-ish) eats various dark greens - he's brumating right now so he will eat bugs every once in a while but not...

Have been considering rehoming my dragon, what do you think?

It's been gradual - I would say it probably started months ago but it was so slow that I didn't really notice and just attributed it to him reaching adulthood. I would say probably since late November-ish, but he's never really seemed to lose weight, it only really hit me when I did the 'big...

Going on a Vacation, care instruction critique please?

I am going on a 10-day vacation in about a week and need to figure out a way for my mom to care for my dragon while I am gone. I have not left for more than a day since I've had him, so I've never done this before. - Rip up at least two leaves a day (collar greens - I've written about the...

Have been considering rehoming my dragon, what do you think?

The post I tried to make earlier got deleted by a computer error. He is housed in a 50 gallon breeder terrarium. There is a 24" Reptisun 10.0 bulb inside the tank - it is due to be replaced this month. This is about a hand's length away from the main part of the basking spot (it's on a slope)...

Have been considering rehoming my dragon, what do you think?

Well... It's been a year since I've had him, but for the past few months I've been worried that I'm not able to provide a good enough home and enough food. I don't know if he's brumating now, but it seems like I always come home to a hardly-eaten salad, the greens starting to go bad from being...

    Viv pics only thread

^ Lovely ! :D Today Pancake's tank went from : To : I still have to cut the rest of the tiles to fit and install them (I think they're linoleum), and I'm watching him to see if he's still bothered by his reflection, now that the background is on the outside. He's exploring right now. :D...

    less protein and more greens??

I would just keep watching her, if she is still active and growing, I would not worry. :) Since you don't know her exact age, it's possible she's a bit older and/or simply is not going to grow much larger. It's always possible to get a parasite from a feeder, so I would just watch out for...

feeding a 10 inch beardie small super worms?

While it's okay, they are not a great staple feeder for a growing dragon and if fed exclusively could lead to impaction just like feeding the larger ones. I think the other posters missed the "as a staple" bit (I did at first, too) - that would not be appropriate. :) Honestly, dubia roaches...

    can a beardie have parasites...

Stinky waste is just one symptom of parasites - if you have reason to believe they might be an issue, you can have a fecal test done to see. :) If you're not sure, and not sure about spending the money without more certainty, you could explain why you think parasites might be the issue and...

    Length Question

She has lovely colours. :) Your set-up sounds good and that's an average length for that age. My bearded dragon started off that size in February, and is now 17-18" long ! I'm not sure exactly how it equates to crickets, but at first he only ate ~7 roaches a day. After being treated for...

    Not growing?

You want the temperature to be a bit higher - 95-105F. :) What UVB lights do you have for them ? A 10g should be fine if they are still tiny, but they'll need to move up eventually. It can also be hard to get the lights set up properly in a 10 gallon, so if you have a set-up in mind for them...

    Mounting UV light

Try a hardware store and look for "under the counter lighting fixtures". I'm not sure what you have in Canada, but if you've been invaded by WAL*MART, they typically have them for $9. :) That's the fixture I got for $9, and it is affixed to the inside of the tank with heavy-duty velcro, just...

3 month old not very active

He is cute and the sleeping habits are normal. :D I would be concerned about the food. The wax worms are not very good for them, they are like candy bars - so I would feed only a couple a week. For the crickets, the little ones eat 3 times a day as much as they can eat in 15 minutes. You're...

    More dubia questions

I would buy a $3 tub and just keep the feeders separate and let the colony go about its business while it matures, that way you don't disturb the main colony (many people have two tubs even when the colony is active, one for feeders, one for breeding). :)

    Beardie feeding question

I don't think Paradon and I are necessarily on opposite sides. :D I'm not totally against pinkies/fuzzies, but they have a limited place in a Bearded Dragon's diet (if any, depending on the keeper) - and if you do want to include them, you just have to feed very sparingly. I don't think we...
