In the room but they would be able to reach the plant and could try and bite if they were out.Do you want to put it in the enclosure, or just in the room?
Thanks. Yeah, there is a ton of mixed information.. tho aloes are sold as safe terrarium plants. Unsure about this one in particular…Yeah there is a lot of mixed information out there. From what I've read Aloe is mildly toxic but a lot of people have them even inside the tank.
I did keep one inside the tank in the past and never had an issue. Luis took a bite once an decided it wasn't for him...
I have two aloe vera in the enclosure (from the beginning on, i.e. about 10 months now).
He has never tried to eat it (but I'm aware that he could, that's why I decided for an aloe vera).
@Chris.
Where have you found it being mildly toxic (and in which amount to be eaten)?
At least for humans (I know things that are perfectly fine for one species can be toxic for others) aloe vera is even considered as food. I won't eat it, it's ugly slimy, but especially in he US I have seen even smoothies made of mostly aloe and a bit of (other) veggies.
Thanks for the link! I thought that aloe was harmless, it was a surprise for me to find out that it contains poisonous juices.You speak german if I recall correctlyAloe Vera: Giftig für Haustiere? Was Sie wissen müssen
