No - is it the bulb? Do you have a extra bulb? Change it out if it's still ringing it's the fixture

I have 5 running, none ring. I agree with Karrieree

Whenever I have something like that, I take it to the store, they replace it right away, no questions asked.

Bumping this, the ringing stopped for a while but now it is considerably louder. I can’t return it and my stores do not have the proper bulb in stock, just how much of an issue is the ringing? I’m not having problems with it but if something is wrong I’ll gladly replace it.

Do you have a solarmeter to check the output? If not i would err on the side of caution and replace it.

I would replace the bulb if that is the culprit--- if not get a new fixture - the solar meters are going to be more than the replacement of both -- they are around $300

I've found them in a couple place for 225.00 but thats still pricey

That is still very high, I think I’ll just buy a new light at this point.

What does the ringing mean tough? Is there something wrong with the fixture?

It doesn’t seem to negatively impacted Leo, he’s very active, alert and hungry.

You need to see if it's the bulb or fixture-- start w/ the bulb

Unless you have another bulb to pop in for testing it could be hard to diagnose. If the fixture is easily accessible maybe get your ear close and see if you can pinpoint the source.

Also maybe look at it through the camera on your phone. I had several zoomed fixtures crap out and thats how i accidentally spotted it. Snickers was going berserk and i was trying to get a video to post for help and saw what was making her insane. I replaced the fixture and bulb and in a day or so she was normal again. 3 failed in just a few days so i switched all mine to Arcadia.

If you want to save money, then pay attention to the UVB meter at this link.
I bought this one and have no complaints about its work. It comes with a document on its official verification.
Here, on the forum you can find information on what should be the UVB for the basking zone in uW/cm2
