Today was a great day for Maya. He was awake at 7:44 AM and had a happy face.
For two weeks, I've been giving 2 dropperfuls of Digestive Conditioner- Acidophilus in Liquid Form from bearded dragon.co. I thought about how well liquids are well absorbed, thanks to Tracie's advice on that subject. I figured if her liquid supplements work, I figured the liquid probiotics would work too. I've been giving the dropperfuls in baby foods- squash, sweet potatoes, or critical care. I've been using a mix of critical care and baby food to give him some 'other flavors' in the purees I feed him.
I had fixed his UVB side basking spot with a bunch of blankets, towels, and toys- not the best. But it did help and keep him from turning over and not being able to flip himself over. He is able to now. So that's a good sign he's not as weak as he was. I decided to remove his blankets, towels from his tank, to one of his own hammocks. I have left his toys underneath it along with a pair of fleece pants. He also has two pillows and a sort of half-body pillow- that needed to be washed. He uses these to perch up on.
He's climbing on his basking spots- with a little more strength than before. I have a few items on my Amazon wish list for him. I think they will work since they are the same size as his cardboard box and hammock. I also want to see if these things are ok for him. So, I will post some links soon.
I also have some other news about food.
He started to eat all of his greens with my help. Today was different. He tried to eat on his own. But then he looked at me for help. I can see that he was asking for help so I helped feed him. He ate all his morning greens, had a few bites during dinner, and had some of his slurry.
I realized he won't poop until I put down some paper towels so when he is ready, he'll go on them. I'm so happy with his progress. He is using all of his limbs.
Here are the links of the probable basking spots. I've been thinking of these two but would these work for him.
