Wood chips or shelf liner?!

I took out my bearded dragons wood chips as they were getting really dirty. I have roughly cleaned his enclosure but will deep clean it once his enclosure cleaning spray arrives. Right now his is on bare floor. He has been doing sloppy poos so I am not too sure but he may be feeling stressed. I wanted to buy him shelf liner for his substrate but not too sure how he will cope with it. Should I buy him wood chips again and just change them like every three months or get him shelf liner? Advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you HAD to pick between only the two options, I'd pick shelf liner.

You do have many more options though that I'd look into.

Do you think he has been doing sloppy poos because he does not like the bare floor? I’m not sure if he really likes bare floor. He is very used to digging

It's possible. Changes in environment can cause slight relocation stress which could effect their stools.
