spraypaint is it safe?

howdy...i got two flood lights wired up, and before mounting them inside, i'd like to change the color. i just got plain white ones that were 5 bucks at home depot. is it safe to spraypaint them? or does it have to be a certain type so it's not toxic? Thanks!

Are you talking about the actual flood light housings or the bulbs....? I assume housings...anyways I would think it wouldn't matter as far as toxicity as they BD's wouldn't come in contact with them, but would be more concerned on getting a "high temp" type of spray paint so it doesn't cook off any fumes due to the heat they will give off.
