Pacing the ladies

So I'm in my second year of breeding, and my experience is still limited. I only had one successful pairing last year (tried for two, but my second female had already ovulated by the time I paired her with my male). Anyways, it's been almost exactly a year since my girl who went last year was paired, and I'm considering trying her again.

What I'm wondering however, is if it's inappropriate to breed females in consecutive years. My veteran mom is at a healthy weight, but I know that breeding can be taxing on a female's body, especially considering the fact that she was a young (albeit successful) breeder last year. Am I being overly conservative?

Also, what's a good retirement age for moms?

Thanks!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
