Extreme aggression? Hormonal or Territorial? (2 females in separate enclosures)

Hey guys my 2 beardies are basically sisters (not blood) and for the most part they get along outside and outside their enclosure.

Then at certain points in time (right now) they will bob wave and CHARGE at each other it's weird I figured 2 females wouldn't wanna kill each other.

They do the usual bite behind the head/beard as if they are going too mate but then like a switch they are okay later on in the year (end of summer). Is this a hormonal thing?

I will generally take for example Amber out and cover the front of Chubbs enclosure or vise versa so they don't see each other but they know and are not stupid.

Generally once they are aggressive I will separate them before they bite or get to each other and then after 3-4 passes of trying to get to each other they calm down immensely and exist peacefully and snuggle or lay side-by-side

Note: NO cohabitation and are NOT left alone together though outside in the sun they don't show aggression or bother each other

I would keep them a part-- sounds like one is trying to take over dominance --

Sometimes two females will do fine together and sometimes even for a long time but there is always the chance of one wanting to be more dominant and causing trouble.

Mine are different genders but I'll do the same as you and cover their tanks when I get the other out.

Can agree on that.
I only have one bearded dragon (and this is one of the reasons that it's the case), and if I had more, I would keep them apart.

Regarding the younger and the older one: The reptile store where I got my Taco from usually has an older dragon in the store (belonging to one of the people working in the store and taken home once it outgrows its enclosure in the store; once that dragon became too large and was taken home, another person working there did so with their dragon). They intentionally have the enclosures so that the baby dragons they sell and the large one can never see each other.

Woohhh I love Ambers racing stripes!!!!!! 😍
My girls acted like that also, Ruby and Sweet would try assert dominance once in a while but within minutes would snuggle up together, Snickers was another story, she would snuggle once in a while but mostly she bullied everyone, even the boys. I had to watch her much more closely.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
